Does Montana have excise tax?
Unlike other states, sales and excise taxes comprise a relatively small portion of state and local tax revenue in Montana, at approximately 10 percent of total revenue. For comparison, sales and excise taxes comprise approximately 50 percent of South Dakota's state and local tax revenue.
